Bird houses, fairy houses and the Rodeeeeooooo!!!

I got these houses for the kids and said they could do whatever they wanted with them. Hunter instantly said his was going to be birdie house. He got right to work setting it all up for them.
And then he got hungry!!
Haylee just as instantly said hers was going to be a fairy house. I wish I got a picture of when she was all finished with it because it turned out really cute. But here she is just starting on hers. Sadly no fairies came into her house that night. Instead a massive rain storm came and destroyed her house.
Haylee I found out loves riding ponies. I thought she would be scared but no way, not one bit. I so remember being around her age screaming and being scared to death to ride a pony. I have a picture of me riding one and I'm crying. I wanted nothing to do with it. I pretty sure I still feel that way about horses and most animals to be honest. But anyway Haylee picked out the one with the sparkles in her hair and a pretty outfit and she was good to go and begged to ride all night long!!
Now onto the real cowboys!! YEE HAW!!!! We had so much fun at the rodeo and the kids did too!!
Now I'm just dreading Haylee's first day of school next week, because a certain 5 yr old just happens to be my best friend and I"m really going to miss her. So is a certain 3 yr old!!!

picking

We headed out to the farm to learn a little about how food grows. Haylee was my little working girl. She could have picked food all day long. Hunter on the other hand picked one strawberry, ate it, spit out and said lets go home. We got him interested in picking green beans and cucumbers. He loved finding the big fat cucumbers.
We had a great day!!! And now we have yummy fresh food to eat.

staying at home

We've being trying to stay so busy this summer, swimming, going to parks, splash pads, movies, magic shows, outdoor concerts, out to ice cream, to target to get slurpees of course, to the library, to waterparks. You name all the kiddie stuff and we've done it this summer. A couple days ago it was freezing, for summer, and raining. It was really nice just to sit at home and veg for a couple of days. Here's a couple things we did, played with logs and vinegar, baking soda, and food coloring. It was great!!
