The other day we had the whole park to ourselves. A really beautiful park that we love! We had the best time exploring, playing, laughing, and having a photo shoot. It was so peaceful and refreshing outside. A perfect afternoon.

The zoo!!!!
When we moved to Portland I was so excited to finally live in a city that has a zoo again. We went on Labor day, the day before school started. I guess it was our goodbye to summer. We had a really fun time because the animals were really active that day. The beavers, penguins, and sea lions were really playing with the kids.
Next on my list of things to do in Portland is go to the aquarium on the coast.Posted by Karen at 1:44 PM 1 comments

Preschool stud muffin
I really dreaded sending this little cute bug to school. It makes me feel old not having my babies at home to take care of But sadly they are so big now and he was begging to go to school so off he went. And I do miss his smiling face the whole time he is gone.
The first thing Hunter did when we got to his school was climb the tree outside. One of the little girls waiting said, "Mommy that little boy is climbing the tree and I don't think he is supposed to." Thankfully she is not in Hunter's class. I don't know how well they would have gotten along. Once inside he very happily found a fun toy to play with and then very politely he said to me, "Mom you need to go now." So out I walked. And just like that I'm an empty nester for six hours a week now. And let me tell you I had big plans for those two hours, three days a week. So far I feel like those two hours go by in about 5 minutes. I think Haylee is the most excited for Hunter. She left him a sweet note on her easel the night before his second day of school. I am constantly reminded of how kind and thoughtful of a big sister she is to Hunter.Posted by Karen at 10:23 PM 3 comments

1st grade Cutie!!!!!
Too many pictures, I know, but I can't help it! She is just so amazing and I wanted to soak it all in before I sent her off for the day! I think I held it together pretty well this morning. I could feel the tears coming but I was able to hold them in. I think because I was still in shock from having to be up so early this morning. Gone are the days of afternoon preschool and afternoon kindergarten. I will sure miss our lazy mornings together. I can't believe we have to do this rush out the door thing every morning!! I'm already tired thinking of doing it all over again tomorrow! She was excited, nervous, and ready! I can't wait to hear about her first day. I keep looking at the clock, only 3 more hours until she comes home!!!!
