Hunter was lucky enough to have two birthday parties. My mom and dad came to Arkansas to visit us around Hunter's birthday. And since Weston was out of town on his birthday we celebrated a family party a few days early. That party he got his first taste of cake. And he went for it!! Loved every bite. He got a baseball toy from my mom and dad, a blue car from Weston and I and a little toy truck from Haylee. The second party was with the apx crew on his actual birthday. I just invited the kids and girls over for cupcakes.

Here Hunter is opening his present from Grandma and Grandpa Teuscher. He loves his little cars! Thank you thank you!

Big sister helping to make his cupcakes. Lately everything is a thumbs up with her

It didn't take long for Haylee to take over his car! Luckily he likes pushing her around in it!!

Hunter had a great birthday!

In times like this I wish I was a good writer, so I could fully explain the feelings I have on seeing my little baby boy for the very first time a year ago. I will never forget locking eyes with Hunter minutes after he was born. It's not just 9 months of waiting to look into your little baby's eyes for the first time. It's the deciding to have a baby, when to bring that new little spirit into your family, the many months of convicing my husband yes, lets have a baby again, the waiting game from month to month of when that little pink line will make an appearance. The day when finally it shows up and your life will never be the same. Announcing to the world, a new spirit is coming to come to earth. The first time you go to the dr and hear thump thump....thump thump. The first flutter you feel in your stomach, was that the baby? When you feel the cold gel on your tummy and see everything is developing just fine and a little wave of relief. The announcement of it's a BOY! The growing and growing bigger and bigger, the constant kicking. The sleepless nights and he's not even here yet. The swollen feet and constant trips to the bathroom. The weekly apts and the dr saying any day now. The anctipation....when will I get to see my baby? When will I know to go the hospital, will my husband be in town, who will watch Haylee? Is my house clean, do I have everything I need for the baby? Who will drive my to the hospital if Weston is out of town? Will labor go smoothly, how big will he be? what will he look like?? Then the moment...... He's ready to come meet me!!!!

The moment of when I look into my baby's eyes for the first time and we truly get to meet each other is one of the best times in my life. Nothing can replace this moment for me. I cherish the wonderful gift I have of being able to bring children into the world. There is no way in words to describe how grateful we are to have Hunter in our family. He is such a happy little spirit and brings so much of that happiness into our family!! Oh we love him so much. Happy Happy first birthday Hunter. I love you more than you will ever know!!!

Fourth

We had such a great fourth of July. Despite Weston having to work, me and the kids had a great day. We went out to breakfast with friends. The food took entirely too long to get but was delicious. Then we made some yummy treats for the day. We went to a parade. Weston got off just in time for a pre firework swim and then we were off to the fireworks.

Earlier in the day I was explaining fireworks to the kids. Giving Haylee a refresher and teaching Hunter for the first time. Here they were practicing being in awe of the fireworks

The parade:
Cute little car

"Mom, I need water!!!"

Two little cuties watching the parade together

Hunter and his buddies eating food off the ground during the parade. Boys! The girls were out catching all the goods being tossed from the floats.

The fireworks:

Our practice did not pay off. Haylee sat with her ears covered the whole time. As soon as the first one went off she said, "Ok can we go home now?"

Hunter fell asleep two minutes into the show. Maybe next year we can be in awe of the beautiful fireworks. We sure are grateful to live in the United States and enjoy all of the blessings that entails. Hope you all had a great holiday.
