Fourth

We had such a great fourth of July. Despite Weston having to work, me and the kids had a great day. We went out to breakfast with friends. The food took entirely too long to get but was delicious. Then we made some yummy treats for the day. We went to a parade. Weston got off just in time for a pre firework swim and then we were off to the fireworks.

Earlier in the day I was explaining fireworks to the kids. Giving Haylee a refresher and teaching Hunter for the first time. Here they were practicing being in awe of the fireworks

The parade:
Cute little car

"Mom, I need water!!!"

Two little cuties watching the parade together

Hunter and his buddies eating food off the ground during the parade. Boys! The girls were out catching all the goods being tossed from the floats.

The fireworks:

Our practice did not pay off. Haylee sat with her ears covered the whole time. As soon as the first one went off she said, "Ok can we go home now?"

Hunter fell asleep two minutes into the show. Maybe next year we can be in awe of the beautiful fireworks. We sure are grateful to live in the United States and enjoy all of the blessings that entails. Hope you all had a great holiday.

I miss seeing your face girl! Looks like you had fun with your 4th of July festivities!! I love that your little has her ears covered ... my kids couldn't get enough, in fact I am pretty sure one day my little boy will catch a field on fire. Crap! Hope things are good - and hope you guys get your booties back here. Glad to know you blog and I can check in!!

How funny Karen! Love the pre-firework pep talk. Very sweet. Tell Haylee I am with her (was, I guess) I didn't like fireworks until I was 6 years old.
