Can you guess who Santa's Favorite is around our house? Haylee is very much into organizing the presents around our tree. She has it all figured out which one's are for her. Only 5 more mornings of telling her, "We can't open them yet. We have to wait until Christmas morning."

8 days and counting until Santa
Apparently Weston came home one night and found this.......two sleeping beauties. I always try to be really busy when he comes home from work so he thinks I am super productive all day long. I got caught this day.
So I kid you not, the very next day I came home to find this........ I'm glad I caught him in a lazy moment too. Haylee is being terrible about taking naps now days but is still in desperate need of them. So her new favorite thing is to fall asleep on the couch.

Two years
We got Haylee's two year old pictures taken. I don't know how they managed to capture this moment but I'm sure glad they did. This is kind of a classic Haylee expression.

A great incentive
My house is always a complete disaster after the weekend. I spend most of my day Monday putting everything back together. This last weekend was especially bad from haylee's birthday. I just couldn't get myself to clean my house. Today is thursday and I still couldn't figure out how to get energy to clean my house. I needed something to really entice me to get it done. So...... I came up with a great idea. If I cleaned my house I could decorate it for Christmas!!!!!!! I know all you crazy thanksgiving people would be horrified if you walked into my house right now and I just had this debate with one of my friends (you know who you are) but I couldn't help it. I am so excited for christmas this year. I think because I know Haylee will have so much fun and get really into it. And it really made me happy and my house is clean. Weston walked into the house just as I was putting on the finishing touches and blasting christmas music. He thinks I am totally crazy. Just as I was hanging the last stocking I told him I think we should put the tree up tonight. He put his foot down on that one. So no tree until after Thanksgiving but I'm enjoying all the other decor! And in honor of Thanksgiving I left all my pumpkins out on my porch.

Halloween
Haylee thinks Halloween is the best thing that has ever happened to her. She had so much fun trick or treating. We live in the best neighborhood for it and the weather was perfect so there were tons of trick or treaters. Haylee said trick or treat at every house and loved loading up on candy.
Here she is saying trick or treat...

Our Birthday
Weston and I had so much fun on our birthday. We invited our friends over for cake, ice-cream, and games. We had a great party and had fun celebrating together. Haylee was having a sleepover at my parent's house so after the party Weston and I decided to go see a late night movie. We get on the freeway only to get stuck in traffic for an hour. There was a horrible accident that shut down the freeway so we weren't even moving. By the time we got out of it it was almost 1 am and we didn't make it to our movie. We were sad, the one time we get to go out late all by ourselves and be party animals, we are stuck in traffic. Well the party lives on today for Halloween. Hope everyone has a fun day!!Posted by Karen at 12:27 PM 8 comments

Roloff Farm
Weston and I have loved watching little people big world ever since we have been married. So we were so excited to be able to go to their farm when we moved to Oregon. We had so much fun! The best pumpkin patch we have been too. For me I just wanted to see the stars of the show and I wasn't disappointed. The roloffs are great and it was fun meeting them.

The twins, Jeremy and Zach

The man of the farm, Matt and little jacob. Jacob was doll, he was just hanging by his dad the whole time.

an update
This is Weston and Haylee with the flu. Not bad huh? We got them on tamiflu so early that they are already getting much better. Thanks for the comments and phone calls, but we are doing well and will be back to our daily routine soon.

the yucky no fun flu
I have been terrified of the swine flu since we all first heard about it in April. Even during the summer months when most people forgot about it I was stocking up on hand sanitizer, tissues, medicine, and food, knowing it would be back to haunt in the fall. As mild as I kept hearing it was, I was still terrified of it. But I'm not scared of it anymore. I have conquered the swine flu!Top 10 things I have learned from my own experience with the swine flu 1. Trying to isolate yourself from your toddler and husband is nearly impossible. 2. Your fever will never, ever, ever go away for at least 3 whole days, no matter how much medicine you take. 3. Now that I'm on tamiflu I feel like a million bucks. 4. I was so tired that I couldn't even lift myself from the couch. 5. Weston was my hero and took over the role of everything in the house, but I didn't get quite as much sympathy as I wanted. That's what a phone call to mom is for. 6. It didn't matter what was on tv, I just blankly stared at the screen, too exhausted to take anything in. 7. I am a really, really ugly person when I have the swine flu. 8. The best thing about the flu is that I still had a huge appetite so hunger and deyhdration is not a factor. 9. I'm sure I spread it to so many people because I felt fine and then I was sick. It comes on so fast, so I'm sorry to all those people who I spread my lovely germs too. I did a lot of errands that day. 10. Now that I'm on the downhill from it I hope I can get the energy to take care of my sweet baby girl who now has it.
I know this post is boring to most people and who cares about the swine flu but I was one of those paranoid ones so I had to share.

Traditions
We went on our second annual trip to the Lee Farm pumpkin patch. It was such a great fall day and so fun to pick out our pumpkins and see all the farm animals. Haylee was in heaven.

An artist at work
Anyone who knows Haylee well enough knows that she never leaves the house without some sort of drawing utensil in her hand. Whether it be crayons, pencils, pens, or markers she doesn't go anywhere without them. And so it goes in our house. Haylee is usually at the table forming some sort of masterpiece. Weston is actually very artistic but I on the other hand only draw stick figures and they are funny looking. I am so sick of Haylee destroying every shirt she has with marker and crayons so I took the plunge and bought her a smock today. That's it, she is officially an artist. So now if you see us at the store she will not only have markers in hand but she will probably be wearing her smock.

The past month
this post is going to be boring because I hardly have any pictures of what we have been up to the last month. I always tell myself I'm going to take a blogging break but I never follow through because I love it too much. I was forced to take a break because our computer crashed and ever since we have had it back all of our programs have vanished. I can't even upload pictures right now. It's awful and I never want to take a blogging break ever again. Way back in August (it seems like forever ago) we went to black butte with some of our friends. It was great, we ate yummy food, went swimming, the kiddies went horse back riding, the boys golfed, the girls chatted and we went on bike rides. It was so much fun. Then Weston went to seattle for a weekend to watch a seahawks game. He hasn't stopped talking about Seattle ever since. He loved the city. And I have a big announcement!!!!!!!! I went away for the weekend without Haylee. In all of her almost two years of living I have never left her overnight. I was gone for two nights and it was fabulous. All of my sisters and my mom went to McCall, Idaho last weekend for our women's weekend and it was so much fun. We had a great time and I love being with my sisters. For pictures look at Sally and Colt's blog. We read magazines on the beach, jumped into the freezing lake, did our nails, went to lunch, shopped, watched movies, and of course talked our ears off. Weston was so nervous about having Haylee for two days that he made me lay outfits out for her while I was gone. So funny, but other than that I think they survived pretty well without me. Now that all of our summer travels are done and over we are looking forward to fall and all of the fun festivities around here. And of course we have already had so much fun watching college football. Go Boise State Broncos!!! And BYU!!!!! Today Weston is in seattle again going to a Mariners game and Saturday he is going to the Oregon Utah football game. Isn't his life so tough? Haha, just kidding, he really wishes he could go to every Boise State game! I'm pretty sure we are their number one fans living outside the state of Idaho, especially in Oregon territory.
The cute kids waiting to get on their horses in black butte
