I love talking to my babies! They are the best listeners. It's always amazing to me forming relationships with these tiny little people. As soon as I find out I'm pregnant I have an immense curiosity about the tiny being I'm growing. When first placed in my arms I immediately have the deepest love for them. But I love the bond and connection I begin to form with them in the first few months. I like telling my little newborns all about our family, what we like to do, where we live, how important they are to us. When Hudson was about three months he was so fussy one day. The kind where nothing would calm him down. He didn't want to eat, bounce, rock, swing, snuggle, sway, or be swaddled. I was getting frustrated. I decided to have one of my first heart to hearts with him. I sat on the couch and just started telling him about when Weston and I met, our dating story and how we fell in love. I described our wedding day to him. He instantly calmed down and was listening soooo intently. He fell asleep half way through the story. But that's ok. I still talked out loud as I watched him sleep. Another time I was telling him about all the places we have lived. Lately he doesn't sit still at all. You know the stage, jumping, climbing all over me, lunging for things, anything. Grabbing everything. Today I decided to tell him about the two years we wanted a baby so bad. I told him how as a family we prayed, fasted, pondered the scriptures, talks, quotes more than ever, went to the temple and pleaded. He was listening to me so intently. his eyes were fixated on me. Didn't move a muscle for the entire ten minutes that I talked about it. It was amazing. As if he remembered my pleadings from the other side. My phone rang and then it's like he snapped out of it and was back to wiggling and finding anything he could to nibble one. But for a moment, a long moment it was as if our spirits were talking. I love these bonding moments with my kids! They are special to me.

What a fun day we had! We packed a lot in! It started with the morning birthday balloons from dad! Then a mini party before school!
Haylee is very excited to have her own set of scriptures, with her name on them and her little tote for them. It's even better that she is doing the scripture in primary this week. She can't wait to use them for that.
I brought in treats to her class and then right after school we headed straight to her birthday party. We had it at Michaels craft store and it was a huge success! We invited all the girls in her school class, her soccer team, a neighbor and her one girl in her primary class. We had a packed room but the more the merrier. Hopefully the store employees thought so too! The girls made two crafts to take home, got their faces painted, ate cake and opened presents.

Haylee got her face painted first and she is a panda bear. Most girls followed along so we had a few pandas and various other animals. Hunter was a T Rex.

Then we sent the girls on their way, packed up quickly and went to cheer on the winterhawks. We got to sit in a box suite which was really fun!
This panda bear is a great cheerleader! Haylee had such a fun day and it was really fun meeting so many girls who she gets to go to school with. It was a great group!!
Confession time. We were supposed to get up the next day and clean the church at 8 am, but we were so tired from the day before we all slept in until 9. Even Weston who goes to the gym everyday at 4. We'll clean super hard next time we are assigned! Posted by Karen at 2:16 PM 2 comments

Haylee was sad Hudson missed the carving party. Of course she made me carve one for him! Such a kind sister.
Helping to put a lot of candles on our cake. My dad pointed out that our combined ages were older than him. Didn't make me feel so good.
I look like a ghost, Weston must have wished for something good. He used all his might to get all the candles. We missed two :(
Weston wanted me to give him a massage on our birthday. I gave him the next best thing. One from a this guy!
Our birthday date. Whenever we go to eat and get our free birthday desseret the sever always questions if it really is both of our birthdays. We've had to show ID before. Luckily this time our server just thought it was the greatest thing ever. It is nice not having to share my birthday treat.
It poured on Halloween. I mean poured!! Luckily we got two trunk or treats in beforehand and the rain didn't stop haylee. She went long and hard and has sooo much candy. That I'm enjoying as I type! This year we had a wizard, fireman, and skeleton! Always a busy crazy festive week but full of fun and memories. Posted by Karen at 9:29 PM 1 comments
