Haylee and Hunter have been playing "camping" a lot lately. I remember playing ski with my sisters. Mostly I remember sitting on the stairs. The stairs were the ski bus. And I don't think we ever got off of the bus, but I do remember having so much fun. Haylee and Hunter play camping by spending an hr packing for their trip, then they get their camp set up and they are done. They have so much fun but never stay at their campsite for long. Then I am left with this in family room all day until I'm productive enough to clean it up. I sure wish they would set up camp in the playroom instead.

flying high for Valentine's Day!!
We started getting ready for Valentine's Day by doing a little crafting!! We love crafting around Holidays!!
We hung our finished product up above the TV and Weston seemed very excited about that! Sometimes Weston gets pretty hyper and we all feed off his positive energy!! I just like to think that we are all jumping for joy with how much we love each other and are excited for Valentine's Day! PS.....don't mind Haylee's glasses. The kids saw a movie in 3d the night before and Haylee wore those things for 4 days straight.Posted by Karen at 2:57 PM 4 comments

hockey and horses!!!
We recently went to a hockey game. Go Spokane chiefs!!! The kids had a blast. The next night while I was making dinner I heard a lot of commotion in the entry way. They had set up their own hockey game and were scoring goals like crazy. Hunter had a golf club, Haylee was switching between a broom and bat. They were using a pair of black socks for their puck and asked if I would set up the soccer goal. They are so cute. I couldn't help but join in. Mommy against the kids. Weston then came home from work and joined in on the fun. Girls against boys!!
I feel kind of bad for dads. It seems that every time they are on the floor relaxing, watching tv or whatever they turn into horseys. In weston's case it's a football player to tackle or horsey. Lately he's been a horse so hunter can sport his new boots!!!!!Posted by Karen at 12:52 PM 1 comments

eagles and toasts
Every week between Christmas and New Years I guess hundreds of bald eagles spend some time on Coeur dAlene Lake. Weston was pretty excited to go see them. I on the other hand didn't care too much. But we went for a drive and it was pretty cool to see. We probably saw 50 plus eagles. They are huge!!!! Of course my picture doesn't do it any justice. They would swoop down and catch a fish from the lake. It was pretty amazing. The kids really had fun spotting them!
New Years was pretty uneventful. We went to cafe rio and happened to see some friends there, we both didn't have plans so they invited us over. Then when we went got home at 10:30ish we did our own countdown and toast. I then had to wake Weston up at midnight for a kiss and some more toasting! Hunter had conked out and was pretty sad he missed the toasting so we did some more toasting for him new years day morning. And had another countdown of course. We rang in the new Year a few times! That should mean we have a great year!!!!Posted by Karen at 6:55 PM 2 comments

2013, it was a great year!!!!!
The highlights of our 2013 in pictures. In January we did a lot of indoor activities and games
because our house looked like this In February my sister Sally and her little girl Claire came to visit us. I think we should make this an annual tradition Sal!!! March: My brother came home from his mission!! The ultimate highlight of the year!!!! In April Haylee played on a soccer team for the first time and we planted our first flowers at our new house for Earth Day! May: Weston and I celebrated 7 yrs of being married. And another ultimate highlight was being in the sealing room watching my sister Stacey get married to the man of her dreams!! Also in May I was very proud of my little miss graduating preschool! In June Haylee's bestie and cousin came to visit!! And Hunter skipped training wheels and just went for it! In July more cousins came to visit!! Hunter turned 3! And we went to Boise to visit lots of cousins!! In August we went berry picking! We had so much fun! And we went swimming a lot!! Besides two days a weeks of swimming lessons we went almost everyday! I think it was the last day of August that Haylee finally learned how to swim underwater! Septmember: I still don't know if I consider this a highlight, but it is a big event in Haylee's life. She went to kindergarten. It was a very hard day for me. I don't like my babies growing up. But she is doing great and loving it so I can only be thankful! October is always a fun filled month! I had a girl weekend with my sisters and mom! And I just love the fall in general! November:I had a wonderful month reflecting on all that I was grateful for! I especially loved this month! Haylee turned 6 and celebrated with her first friend birthday party! In December we had so much fun getting ready for Christmas! The anticipation of family coming to town and all that accompanies Christmas had my kids bouncing off the walls. I had so much fun looking at pictures from the past year! I love reflecting at this time of year! I had some of my most joyous tears and happiness!! In turn, I can think of some pretty sad tears and hard days. But our family was so blessed this year. I cannot even begin to put into words how our family is being watched over. I love watching my kids learn and grow! They constantly amaze me and my love bursts out of my heart for them. I admire Weston so much! His career is really taking off and I'm so proud of him! He puts so much energy into our family and I am so in love with him. I have enjoyed being challenged in various things I have done this year! We are excited for the new year as we grow closer as a family! Happy New Year!!!Posted by Karen at 4:10 PM 4 comments
