First Day of School

Haylee is in third grade this year. She has started a new school every school year so this is her fourth elementary school. We didn't move this year but we switched schools to get into a new school district. Our neighborhood is the border street for three different school districts and our assigned school is not good so we made the switch this year. Only after trying for two years with a lot of prayer, fasting and going to the temple in hopes that we would be accepted into the new school. Haylee is a really great writer and her teacher the last two years have told me she will be an author someday. She also excels at reading and math. She is a hard worker and really is a great help to the teacher. I was not this way in school so I'm really proud of her. It was also fun watching her run in the Husky run at school recently. She ran the most laps in her class! Way to go Haylee!

Hunter is in full day Kindergarten this year. He was on the wait list all summer and I was told would not find out if he was accepted until after the first day of school. Acceptance is based on numbers and what order you applied. I was in constant communication with the school office staff all summer trying to stay on their radar. The week before school started they told me their numbers were so tight for kindergarten that I would not find out until after the third day of school. Finally on the third day I got the call. She explained to me that they were full but they will let Hunter come anyway and be number 20 in his class. They only allow 19 in each class. An answer to our prayers for sure. Hunter is loving his teacher and comes home so happy from school each day. he loves kindergarten and especially being there all day. He is really excelling at reading this year since he did half day last year. I've had two teacher tell me he is really great at math and is a numbers guy. He loves Pe, music, art, library, and dance. Yes they have dance at the school and both kids really like that.
