Hawaii Day #4

I was so excited for Saturday because we were going to do my excursion that day. I picked whale watching. I took oceanography in high school and we took a field trip to the Oregon coast. Part of our field trip was going on a boat on the ocean to spot some whales. We didn't see any and I've wanted to ever since. Plus I thought it would be fun with the kids to be on a boat on the ocean. The three hour long cruise included lunch, which was a bonus.

It was so windy and trying to keep Hudson from going overboard was a full time job, plus overtime. Oh my goodness that little climber cannot sit still and just wanted to swim with the fish.
Luckily we did spot some amazing whales. We saw quite a few mama whales and their babies. It really was fascinating seeing such huge animals in the wild. Haylee had an amazing eye for them and spotted them even before the captain pointed them out to us. We all had so much fun on the boat. While heading back to the island Haylee and I did some hula lessons. It is so crazy how they can move their hips like that. The little girls were much better than I was and much cuter. Little did I know that after our lessons we had to perform in front of everyone on the cruise. I happily bowed out of that one. After the cruise we drove down the beach to check out Waikiki. Crazy! So many people, surfers, beach bums, and shoppers. Would never want to stay there but fun to see.
We headed back to our resort that night for some dinner, ice cream and swimming!
Another perfect day in paradise!!
